Furniture paper used in modern furniture
2023-03-13
Furniture paper has been widely used in modern furniture, and modern wood furniture has developed so far, forming a large market pattern with diverse styles, complete varieties, and complete grades. Diversified markets provide a wealth of options, but at the same time, they also derive a mixed bag of good and bad, and the good and bad are indistinguishable. As a customer, you must keep your eyes open when purchasing. Next, furniture enthusiasts will join you in discussing the identification methods of solid wood, veneer, and sticker furniture.
Solid wood is mostly used for varieties and parts with fewer materials, and precious wood is rarely used. For example, solid wood dining chairs are relatively common, but they are generally made of imported beech wood for mid to high-end items, maple, birch, and domestic beech wood for mid to high-end items, and rubber wood for low-end items. If someone tells you that they are selling "imported black walnut solid wood dining chairs" for 500 to 600 yuan each, they must be fooling you. The chair was mostly painted with birch and black walnut, similar practices common in the furniture industry at home and abroad. However, the original intention, which was to save costs and achieve harmonious matching, has been used to conceal the truth and have to be prevented.
There are many decorative materials for modern panel furniture, including wood veneer and stickers, which are commonly used, but the grades are completely different. Wood furniture is rich in natural texture, beautiful and durable, but the price is relatively high. Sticker furniture is easy to wear, fear water, and withstand collision, but the price is low, and belongs to a popular product. Some types of furniture that are not subject to significant wear and tear and are not close to water sources are currently dominated by stickers, such as shoe cabinets and bookcases.
When customers visit a furniture store, they will see descriptions on the price plate such as "Walnut wood floor cabinets", "Cherry wood tea tables", and "Beech wood dining chairs". At this point, it is crucial to determine whether it is solid wood, wood veneer, or stickers. Solid wood and wood veneer can be referred to as "cherry wood furniture", but stickers can only be referred to as "cherry wood grain furniture", otherwise it would be a move of fooling around.
Solid wood, wood grain, and wood rays (usually referred to as "needles" if any) are clearly visible, and more or less should have some natural defects (knots, wood spots, etc., black lines, etc.). The natural connection between the longitudinal section and the cross section of the same solid wood, whether it is a wooden board or a wooden strip, should be clearly visible from the wood grain at the two interfaces.
There should also be natural flaws. Due to the thickness of the wood veneer (about 0.5mm), when making furniture, two adjacent interfaces are encountered, and they are usually not turned, but each one is pasted. Therefore, the wood grain at the two interfaces should not normally be connected.
Even imported high-grade paper can be imitated with wood defects, but it is still different from natural wood veneer and appears to be fake. Sticker furniture can easily reveal flaws at the corners. In addition, due to the small thickness of wood grain paper (0.08mm), it will be directly wrapped at the junction of the two planes, resulting in the wood grain at the two interfaces being connected (usually in longitudinal sections).
